Calvados
was breeded from the topmost French performance bloodline. His
father Uriel has been leading sire in France for years
(index 211 = topmost in France). Uriel has left 26 sons
to the French stock-farm, en brought forth not less than
100 international equestrian horses !
Calvados'
mother, Goldrose (index 186) became at age of 3 Conformation
Champion of France. She made part of the France team
from '72 till '81 and won Grand Prix, like Paris & Madrid,
2nd in Grand Prix of Lissabon, Barcelona and Hamburg. Her
total gain amounted to FFrs. 621.000 !! In addition
Gold Rose produced two sons, that both became approved
stallions ; Turban Rose in Sweden and Sable Rose (=Cavados)
in Holland. Gold Rose was sired by the great showjumper
producer Ibrahim with 36 approved sons in France, including
the legendary Alme.
Granddam
of Calvados, Jolie Rosie, had 6 children running in the
international contests : All Rose, Dall Rose, Gold Rose,
Calline V, Irmino & Joly Jumper. |

Calvados as a 4 year old won the
National Stallion Competition. In 1992 Calvados as an 8 year
old claimed a deserved 7th place in the Dutch Championship.
The next year they were Reserve Champion of the Netherlands
and won the Grand Prix of Tjele in Damark, 3rd Grand Prix Drammen,
5th Grand Prix Fal-sterbro, 2nd Grand Prix Spangenberg, 4th
Grand Prix Geesteren en winner of the stallion competition
at 's-Hertogenbosch.

Though the oldest offspring is only 6 years
old, a lot of international riders have young offspring by
him, for example :
